IMMO Universal Decoding 3.2 is the best software to remove the IMMO code of ECU. The software IMMO Universal Decoding is compatible with read files with programmers such as UPA-USB, WELLON Series VP/GP, Galletto 1260, Serial and many other (not supplied with the software). Once loaded the read file of the ECU, The software will repair the IMMO. Parallels is a good program, but it doesn't work well with KTuner for some reason - sometimes it can't connect to ECU for minutes, the connection drops randomly, sometimes it drops while flashing and I have to recover ECU, that's annoying.
For reading and writing the memory (flash) chips on the ECU you have to use specialized tools.
Luckily there are a variety of flashtools available for free these days. All of the following programs will work for MS42 & MS43 ECUs.
The bootloader area containing EWS key, UIF, etc can ONLY be overwritten in bootmode, regardless of which software used.

JMGarage Flasher
- Use this only for virginizing, cloning or backing up the ECU
- Bootmode required (open the ECU and ground boot pin)
- No automatic checksum correction
- Only 512 KByte read/write (with seed keys, ISN, etc.)
- In order to have a successful connection with the DME every time, set the latency time for the Com Port to 16ms.
- If you flash a file with a bad checksum and the program keeps on throwing an error no answer from ecu, cycle power to the DME, connect with JM flasher, and read first. After the read finishes, then open whatever file you want to flash (with corrected checksums) and it will now work.
